The winners celebrating on the podium after a Sail GP event

Western Australia will welcome back the Australia Sail Grand Prix Perth in February 2027 with fans expected to travel to Fremantle to witness the high-speed racing spectacle.

Perth will be the second stop on the 2027 SailGP calendar, driving increased visitation to Western Australia while also serving as the sole home race of the season for Australia's championship-leading BONDS Flying Roos team, adding to the excitement for local fans.

Western Australia's inaugural SailGP event in January 2026 was a sellout success, attracting over 12,000 attendees to Fremantle and surrounds, and injecting millions of dollars into the State's economy while generating enormous global media coverage that showcased Perth and Fremantle to the world, with similar results expected again in 2027.

Next year's event marks the second year of a three-year agreement to host SailGP in Western Australia from 2026 to 2028, reinforcing Western Australia's reputation as a premier destination for major international sporting events.

SailGP's seventh season will be the league's biggest global expansion to date, with 13 events scheduled across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America and the Middle East.

New destinations Hong Kong and Europe will join the championship calendar in 2027, alongside the return of San Francisco and other iconic host cities around the world, placing Perth among a prestigious lineup of world-class international destinations.

The elite sailing event forms part of the State Government's strategy to diversify the economy through major events that attract visitors, support local businesses and create jobs, while showcasing Western Australia to a global audience.

Final event dates will be confirmed shortly. Fans are encouraged to sign up to SailGP+ to ensure they don't miss out on the exclusive pre-sale window.
