Arts Activities in Regional Communities

Funding for projects that support participation in, access to and creation of arts and culture in regional Western Australia.

Arts Activities in Regional Communities is a program of the Regional Creative Industries Fund which receives funding support from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

For arts and cultural projects in regional WA that align with the following objectives:

  • Increase access to and/or participation in arts and culture in regional Western Australia.
  • Provide employment opportunities, skills development or/and career pathways for regional Western Australian artists and arts workers.
  • Encourage development of regional creative and cultural industries including cultural tourism.
  • Support community led activities and creative developments.
  • Contribute to social inclusion, wellbeing, cohesion and vibrancy in regional WA communities.

Funding categories

Creative Projects

Grants of up to $60,000 for arts and cultural activities and creative developments in regional Western Australia.

Creative and Cultural Planning

Grants of up to $50,000 for regional local governments to develop creative and cultural plans or revise existing plans.

Creative Projects

Applications are open to Western Australian based:

  • regional local governments
  • organisations, groups and individuals*

For 2026, Indian Ocean Territories applicants can apply to the Indian Ocean Territories Arts Activities in Regional Communities program.

Creative and Cultural Planning

Applications are open to Western Australian based:

  • regional local governments

*If applying from metropolitan WA, you must provide evidence of support from, and benefits to, relevant regional communities.

*If applying on behalf of Aboriginal people, you must provide evidence of significant Aboriginal involvement in project conception, development and delivery.
