The State Government is investing $25.7 million towards the project to build a state-of-the-art indoor sporting facility that will drive participation in sport and attract major events to Bunbury.

Once complete, the new facility will feature six additional full-sized hard courts that are basketball and netball compliant, including a show court with retractable seating, four change rooms, a multipurpose room, administration offices, first aid facilities, storage areas, and universal access amenities.

The development will also include a welcoming foyer, commercial kitchen, kiosk, and bar facilities, creating a modern, flexible venue capable of hosting community sport, major regional events, and a wide range of recreational activities throughout the year.

Designed as a sustainable, multipurpose indoor sporting hub and delivered by the Bunbury Basketball Association, the courts will support the continued growth of basketball across the South West, providing opportunities for a variety of other indoor sports and community uses as well as being a new home for the Association.

The new facility will also help meet increasing demand for indoor sporting venues and strengthen Bunbury's reputation as one of regional Western Australia's leading sporting destinations.

These works form part of the State Government's PlayOn WA initiative, guiding investment in community sport and recreation infrastructure across Western Australia. PlayOn WA will deliver 2,030 infrastructure items by 2030, ensuring long-term benefits for communities across the State.

The City of Bunbury is also contributing $3 million towards surrounding infrastructure, including road upgrades, access improvements, and additional parking.
