Intro
The award recognises the club's growth since its 2014 establishment, all starting from a barbecue by a small group of families committed to bringing league to Ellenbrook.
The Rabbitohs hit the field in 2015 and won the national Grassroots Club of the Year award in their first season.
More than a decade later, Vice President Karyssa Turner said the latest try-umph reflects the commitment of volunteers, players, coaches, managers and committee members.
"This award belongs to everyone who has contributed to the club since it started," she said.
"Countless hours from volunteers, coaches, managers and committee members have helped make the club what it is."
This year, the Rabbitohs rank first in Western Australia for total registrations, junior registrations, women's registrations, player retention and registered volunteers.
Participation has grown from around 300 members to more than 600 players and volunteers.
The club's One Club, One Family motto has converted a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages people to stay involved.
For Turner, culture has been a key reason for her long-term involvement despite living 30 minutes from Ellenbrook.
"I don't live in the area, but the relationships and sense of community keep me coming back," she said.
"The people make the club what it is."
The club has built one of the strongest women's programs in WA, with its women's team reaching every grand final since its inception and providing a clear pathway for young players.
Turner said the arrival of the Perth Bears would create new opportunities for Western Australian players and strengthen local rugby league.
